Still from video

Saksi Bisu (Silent Witness)/Let me take you to a Tropical Paradise

Saksi Bisu” is a silent witness. A place of desolation and crime. The landscape, indifferent and serene, simply observes the crimes. Its peaceful, hushed but treacherous beauty regards the evil done and remains silent. Everything grows again, everything continues as if nothing ever happened.

Hundreds of bodies were dumped into the Grubug Cavein Yogyakarta during the massacre of (alleged) Communists in 1965. In the early 1980s, three trucks were needed to remove the human remains. Nowadays, the cave is a tourist destination.
